With her 1995 breakout album, "The Woman In Me", Shania Twain redefined what it meant to be a female country singer. Whether upbeat rockers or slow ballads, the songs were a far cry from the laments of long-suffering country girls mistreated by their men. Shania was full of strength, sass and humor and knew what she wanted from life and in a man. Song after song went to number one: "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" "Any Man of Mine", "I'm Outta Here", and "No One Needs To Know". With her trademark bare midriff and cowboy hat, Shania's videos and stage performances were the beginning of a new confidence and sexuality in female country singers. Her follow-up album, "Come On Over", was successful on rock radio, too, marking the beginning of her fame as a crossover performer. "You're Still The One", "Man, I Feel Like A Woman" and "That Don't Impress Me Much" secured her position as the pre-eminent crossover star.
